If your family are like mine, who love playing video games and board games, then look no further..

We love to bring out the games at christmas time, get together with a lot of snacks and have a fun evening.

For all the family

If you all want to get involved and stuck in then there’s a few of our favourites right here.

Mario Kart (Nintendo Switch)

We absolutely adore playing Mario Kart and love that the Nintendo Switch has it’s own version. No doubt that when we are playing it, we are all screaming and shouting with competitiveness and sometimes frustration! (hehe).

Lion King & Aladdin

Cover art for Lion King & Aladdin game

I grew up in the very early 90s and had a Sega with my brother. My whole family would love to play Aladdin, Lion King, Home Alone, Ghostbusters, Castle of Illusion, Streets of Rage and more..

We would be up all night trying to complete the Lion King and Aladdin games, and boy were they hard back then! I thought maybe they were hard because I was young, nope. I went on to stream on Twitch (link) and do you think I could complete the first level? No. I struggled for an hour or two and then I completed it! I went on to the third level of Aladdin and that’s how far I have gotten so far.

This remake has brought back so many incredible memories for me and my family. From the animations like the camel that you jump on, to even the soundtrack..

I would highly recommend picking this up for anybody that loved the Sega and these games! Not to mention that 8 Bit brought out an amazing cartridge for this too, which I will link here for you to have a look at. It is INSANE.

Just Dance 2020 (Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, Wii)

Cover art for Just Dance 2020

We love a good game of Just Dance in my family, but don’t forget to be aware of your surroundings! We are always knocking one of the lights or something, whilst throwing all of our best dance moves out there. I love that Into The Unknown from Frozen 2 is on Just Dance 2020! I would love to get my hands on this to play this year!

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

We loved the original Mario and Sonic Olympics back in 2007, so would love to pick this up at some point. These games always hold such a wide variety of mechanics to them, from Javelin, Sprint, Swimming, Rowing..

Not to mention the wide range of characters you can play as too! They always feature their great individual personalities and a lot of cute sound effects. Again, this is another one that we get super competitive with!

For the Star Wars fans

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

The Star Wars lovers are going to go crazy for Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order this year. It looks like an incredibly beautiful game with a really strong storyline too. Once I saw the trailer premiered at E3, I knew that I had to get my hands on it.

For the Switch lovers

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch is a game that I have my eye on so badly! This was previously released on PS3 and has now been remastered on the Switch and PS4. It is such a beautiful game filled with quests and battles. The people over at Studio Ghibli illustrated the whole game, which explains why it is so incredibly gorgeous to look at. This game is a roleplaying adventure like no other!

For the PC Gamers

A selection of games from a Humble Bundle

If you are thinking of what to gift somebody that loves PC games, then definitely think about Humble Bundle.

They sell bundles for $12, where you receive 10 games each month. You don’t have to subscribe every month, you can pick and choose! I had a great deal in the November bundle, where I received Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Call Of Duty: World War II PLUS another seven games on top! It was a crazy good deal that I could not pass up.

Not forgetting that on Humble Bundle, you can choose whether to donate the money you are paying with to a charity or to the company itself. It’s really incredible!

If you would like to sign up and have a peak at the bundles, then I have a referral code right here: CLICK ME
