Title: This Time Next Year
Author: Sophie Cousens
What is the book about?
Quinn and Minnie are born on New Year’s Eve, in the same hospital, one minute apart.
Their lives may begin together, but their worlds couldn’t be more different.
Thirty years later they find themselves together again in the same place, at the same time.
What if fate is trying to bring them together?
Maybe it’s time to take a chance on love…
How I felt:
Okay, I have finished and I absolutely adored this book! It was such an easy read, full of events, romance and lots of problems too. I would highly recommend it to anyone that loves books from Sophie Kinsella and Jojo Moyes. Especially now that the weather is getting a lot cooler, this is perfect for a cosy night in, a comfy blanket and some hot chocolate! The characters are so relatable in this book and I love that.
I have decided to take a different approach.
This time I felt like I would enjoy giving a reading diary style to my post.
Pages 1-86: I’m really enjoying this book straight away! We have now met the two main characters and I am hooked. It can take me some time to get into the beginning of a book usually, but straight away I’m absorbed right into it. It is almost midnight and I really should put this down and go to sleep before class tomorrow! One more chapter won’t hurt, surely?
Pages 87-190: Oh boy, woo! The dynamics that are now entering the book have completely captivated me. We now know the majority of the characters in the book, their situations are starting to get a little rocky and I cannot wait to read more.
Pages 190-238: A short read tonight as I’m struggling to balance uni with work, with reading, with life, with cleaning. BUT I really don’t want to put this book down right now. So much is starting to happen and I feel like a new ‘chapter’ is starting for the characters in this book. I wonder if my predictions will be right?
Pages 238-358: I am so, so close to finishing this and am hooked! Maybe I fell asleep reading as I was on a wild roll by staying up way after my bedtime reading. Everything is happening right now, I’m not too sure which way things are going to go but I cannot wait to find out.
Pages 358-410: This is it! The last stretch of the book and I kinda don’t want it to end yet?
I finished!: Such a great read! I really enjoyed it and was taken away with the story the whole way through too!
What is your next read? I’d love to know in the comments below!
