Do you need a new TV series that will get you hooked? A binge worthy series? Then look no further, because Cable Girls did just that to me!
Ok, so I am very interested in different eras especially the 1920s-1940s. So as soon as I saw the marketing for Cable Girls on the Netflix home screen – I had to watch it! And boy, did I get addicted..
What is Cable Girls?
It is the 1920s, in Madrid. The first National Telephone Company to make long distance calls, and there are 4 women that are destined to work there. Life as a woman in the 1920s was tough, women were expected to stay at home as a housewife, not going out chasing their dreams. But here is where Lidia made her stand. Cable Girls is full of romance, friendships, dramas, darkness and even death. But I won’t tell you any more about that, until you get stuck in for yourself!
Is there more than one season?
Netflix recently posted the second season of Cable Girls and it was perfect timing for me as I had just finished the first! There is plenty of material to keep you binge watching for the week!
What did I personally love about the series?
Firstly, the costumes are incredible. This series really transports you back in time to the 1920s and the costumes are so inspiring. There was also a lot of romance in this series, and come on, who doesn’t love a bit of romance? It was the kind of romance that had you screaming at the television ‘Don’t leave them! You would be perfect together! Don’t go for the other person!’. I also really loved the characters and the friendships that they had blossomed throughout this series. You wanted to help them, be on their side and really root for them through tough times.
Where can I watch Cable Girls?
Cable Girls is currently on Netflix as a ‘Netflix Original’ and you will not regret it! Here is the link to the series.
What other Netflix shows do I love?
In the last year, I have been loving 13 Reasons Why, Black Mirror, Stranger Things, You Me Her..
What am I looking forward to watching next?
Well, I cannot wait to start watching the animated series of Trolls: The Beat Goes On, I want to rewatch the first few episodes of Peaky Blinders as I was busy whilst previously watching it, The Crown, Bright and Dark!
